The jQuery UI Grid team would like to thank and commend the authors of the current jQuery grid plugins listed below, in particular, Michael Leibman, Tony Tomov, and Allan Jardine. They surely have each spent countless hours in the development, testing, and support of what are capable and mature jQuery grid and data table plugins.
We also would like to thank them for releasing their plugins with compatible licenses so that we can build on top of the work they have done.
Note: This is not meant to be a comprehensive list of all jQuery Grid plugins. It's meant to capture details about some of the most commonly used and supported quality grid plugins that are being used as a research base for development of the jQuery UI Grid.
Other lists of jQuery Grid plugins are on the Essential Controls List pages.
These plugins don't seem to be currently maintained by their original authors. They still get some amount of use and may have forks on GitHub. May be some gems here.

Mar 10, 2009 Andrew Powell said: Something that might be considered is the plugin/widget and parser abilities of tablesorter. It's a fantastic plugin and allows for some great extensibility. It's flexibility for late-bound sorting and initialization has been key for our uses. (ie. having a serverside script generate a table, and then applying the plugin to the table).
