Labs

The jQuery UI Labs is a place for experimental plugins and plugin features. The labs code is located here in SVN:

Initial work on the labs landing page has begun to organize the plugins for public consumption:

Hi all - I just created a labs page here on the wiki so we can discuss the plans for adding this to the jQuery UI website. I think this page is a very good direction and the addition of the thumbnails and descriptions is both attractive and good for SEO. I might suggest that we consider updating the current Demos & Docs page to use this treatment for the final plugins as well.

My only concern with this design is how different and disconnected it feels from the rest of the UI site - how do you get here, will we include the standard UI site header and footer, etc.? I think this is all really cool stuff so I wonder if this could be a top nav section on the site or we somehow organize the Demos & Docs page to hold both final and Labs components together (stacked, tabbed, etc.) so it's integrated and high-visibility. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah, I agree with everything mentioned. I was thinking the labs page could get a UI branded header - of course, we could also just make it UI conform in black/orange, however I kinda like the apple finish :)

It definitely was my evil plan to get some eye candy out in order to get the Filaments cranking, and building upon it :) It would be awesome to have your help to create a bleeding edge Apple/Labs theme to aid the page.
